Rosica Mrшиiќ's newly opened "Pop-up Showroom" at the East Gate Mall is the new place where you can find a selection of her most sought after 'best-selling' fashion pieces from the latest collections, bringing Mrшиiќ closer to all fashion lovers and followers. .

That this is an exceptional talent and new value on the Macedonian fashion scene has become clear since the graduation collection with which Rosica Mrшиi се was launched as a new designer name. Her education at the School of Visual Arts and Design in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and at the Art Institute School in Chicago, USA, was instantly noted as an authentic design expression, subtle avant-garde style, and coherence in expression. Her brand under the same name was a response to the need of the Macedonian fashion scene for a fresh and modern, urban and cosmopolitan brand that works on the principles of sustainable fashion.

For 12 years Rosica Mrќi е has been on the line of creating unique pieces in limited series in order to make every woman feel special. These days he is celebrating the jubilee of his successful work.

What is the feeling after a long time to expose their creations to a wide audience?

The pandemic affected the change in the way collections were promoted by all fashion designers and fashion houses. For almost two years we have been witnessing frozen promotions, postponed fashion events, alternative ways of presenting collections, virtual fashion weeks. My work and collections, in the past pandemic period, continued to be created at the usual pace and found a way to reach their audience. Not in the usual way through presentations and events, but by exhibiting the collections in its show room as well as in the other points of sale of the brand in Skopje and Sofia. The opportunity and the invitation to exhibit my work and open the new 'pop-up showroom' in the newly opened East Gate Mall during this period, is to my great joy for addressing and presenting my collections to a wider fashion audience and lovers of design expression.

How much of a privilege and how much of a challenge to expose a design brand amid such a huge supply of consumer brands? Are these different categories competition?

What the Rosica Mrшиi б brand does every season are limited, high quality designer collections, which are created locally in the designer's studio, as needed and tailored to the client, and each piece is created only after it has been ordered and in a very small number of samples. This approach sets the brand apart and different from commercial consumer brands and allows each customer to enjoy their own unique tailored fashion piece. Based on the principles of slow fashion and sustainable fashion, the brand celebrates and respects the environmental awareness of customers and with its work does not affect the environment, as well as the need for their own and individual style versus the uniform trendy look of commercial brands.

How much knowledge is gained in this short period of experience about how consumers react to the design product. Do they know how to recognize the difference, which is the most obvious in such a constellation?

There is always an audience with a curious eye and an open mind. One that seeks aesthetics outside the box and that wants authenticity and different experiences in its choice. East Gate Mall is the new destination of the city where the tastes of visitors and buyers are intertwined and each of them makes his choice where he finds himself.

 

The quality materials and the unique design and of course the good marketing enabled you to break into the international market. What did it take to survive on the domestic local scene?

To enter the international market, you must first be present and successfully survive at home. My personal formula for the long-term presence in our market is understanding and responding to the needs of modern women, placing a cosmopolitan and sophisticated aesthetic that has its own recognition and character, constant presence with new expressions in fashion collections and accessories, collaborations with industry and local commitment and vision to develop a quality and innovative product.
