Queen Elizabeth spent the night in hospital, undergoing examinations
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, 95, spent a night in hospital for a preliminary medical examination and returned to Windsor Castle on Thursday, October 21, "in good spirits," Buckingham Palace said.
The Queen canceled her visit to Northern Ireland on October 20, saying medical staff had told her to rest and that it was not related to Covid-19.
"Following the doctors' advice to rest for a few days, the queen went to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon for a preliminary investigation, and returned to Windsor in a good mood at lunchtime today," the palace said in a statement.
A Buckingham Palace source told Reuters that the Queen had remained in hospital for practical reasons and that her medical team had taken a cautious approach, and that on the afternoon of October 21 she had returned to her duties and performed some minor duties.
Queen Elizabeth II is the oldest monarch in the world and has been on the throne for almost seven decades.
