The company made the announcement on Monday.

"Scott has written a fundamental chapter in the brand's legacy with his fearless style and witty humor – true to Moschino's renowned codes," the company said in a statement.

The American designer took over at Moschino in October 2013 with a groundbreaking fall-winter collection that, according to a statement, "raised a thousand debates about the role of fashion in the annals of art, consumerism and social commentary."
