A thief tried to break into Scholz's home, but was quickly spotted

On Sunday night, a person wearing gloves, a hood and a mask broke into an apartment complex in Potsdam (a city located on the outskirts of Berlin) where Scholz lives, reported "SPIEGEL”, referring to security officers and footage from the building's surveillance cameras.
According to Spiegel, the person tried to break into the apartment and then fled the scene after being spotted.
Scholz was not home at the time of the attempted burglary. Although the official residence of the German Chancellor is the Federal Office in Berlin, not all Chancellors choose to live there.
