Kovachevski on the price of electricity: As before, we will not allow a price shock for the citizens

Calculations are currently being made for the possible price of electricity from January 1, but the Government will not allow there to be a price shock for the citizens, the Prime Minister said today Dimitar Kovacevski.

- What is currently being done is the calculations and discussions between the responsible ministries and the responsible enterprises in the state regarding the determination of the price of electricity for the next six months starting from January 1. It is crucial, there are more elements in the price of electricity because ESM does not produce electricity only for EVN Home, but it also produces electricity for losses in the network and also for the part that is needed for distribution, which means that it cannot it is not possible to say whether one price will be 48 euros, but it is about three price categories that affect the final price that buyers receive, Kovacevski said.

"I can confirm that the Government will not allow there to be a price shock for the citizens," the Prime Minister pointed out.

- For all citizens, as we have not allowed before, and we will also make an effort to determine the price of electricity with increased electricity production, because in this way the price can be reduced, which will also allow relaxation of the regulated market in the area of small consumers where there are 72 thousand companies that employ 98 percent of employees in the state, Kovacevski said.

The Prime Minister said that he cannot know the final price of electricity, but that there will be no price shock for the citizens. According to him, the price depends first on the decision of RKE, which decides independently, while the price at which ESM produces electricity depends on the production costs, as well as on the economy of scale it achieves.
