The Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski received the Ambassador of Sweden to our country Christine Forsgren Bengtson who, as informed by the government press service, handed over the personal letter to the Prime Minister of Sweden, Magdalena Anderson, in which she congratulated him on the election of the Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia and wished him and the members of his cabinet success. in the realization of the set program priorities.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked for the support of the Kingdom of Sweden throughout all the years of independence of Northern Macedonia, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1993.

- Kovacevski focused on the priority issues of the Government of Northern Macedonia, including the policies for dealing with the energy and health crisis and measures to eliminate the consequences for the economy, which focus on supporting investments in the real sector to preserve labor. places and the implementation of reforms, the government's press service said.

Regarding the process of Northern Macedonia's integration into the EU, Prime Minister Kovacevski stressed the progress of relations with Bulgaria, which have been returned to the highest political level, and added that the established dialogue and action plan of working groups in several areas promises a good basis for political solutions. open questions acceptable to both parties.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden Christine Forsgren Bengtsson stressed that her country remains a strong supporter of Northern Macedonia and that it will continue to affirm the position that EU membership negotiations should begin without further delay in accordance with the decision of the European Council of March 2020. in a government statement.

The Ambassador added that Sweden, as the largest bilateral donor from the EU countries in the country, will continue to support Northern Macedonia in several areas and that in the coming period more planned initiatives will be activated for greater trade and additional incentives for Swedish companies to invest in the country.
