Kovacevski expects open talks with the UKIM Union regarding salary increases
Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski expects open talks with the Union of the University "St. Cyril and Methodius", regarding the increase in professors' salaries.
- I expect to talk openly with the Union of UKIM, which will have to set a framework regarding the request of the professors from UKIM. I am here today, the rector of UKIM was also here, the work of the professors should really be appreciated and valued, and I come from the academic community, with the fact that we must take into account the conditions in which the economy operates in these crisis conditions, answered the prime minister to a journalist question of today's first academic class at the Faculty of Economics at UKIM.
He informed that an increase in the salaries of higher education institutions by seven to eight percent for this year has already been foreseen.
- Of course, we will try to do it next year as well, in order to achieve more decent salaries for the professors in the medium term, he concluded.
