Kostadinovska-Stojchevska: The attitude towards the Universal Hall is a good indicator of what the power of VMRO-DPMNE means

"If the Modern Skopje program meant that the Universal Hall would remain uncovered, unprotected and unreconstructed for two years, then it is a good prelude to what VMRO-DPMNE will offer in the next elections," said the Minister of Culture, Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojchevska in the morning program of " Free Press" on Slobodna TV.

She added that the Universal Hall is under the control of the City of Skopje, and the decision made at a session of the Council of the City of Skopje more than two and a half months ago has not yet been implemented.

"We did not have any signal from the City of Skopje, although we urged several times. After we alerted the public that the Universal Hall is still in the City of Skopje, there were some changes, but again there was an attempt to slow down the process and new demands that bounced off the decision made by the Council. And then and now I insist that the decision made be respected," said Kostadinovska-Stojchevska.

The Minister explained that the decision of the Council is to transfer the reconstruction to the Ministry of Culture, with all obligations.

"I hope that the City of Skopje will accept what we sent them, that we want the decision made to be respected." We don't want variants with a third party offering. The City of Skopje has the money in a dedicated account, and they also have the project. There is a decision of the Council and we demand that that decision be respected. Let's not drag out the processes, which should not be politically motivated and depend on the pre-election," Kostadinovska-Stojchevska said.
