The Kosovo police seized 1,6 million euros and 74,7 million dinars in the branches of the Serbian Postal Savings Bank in northern Kosovo.

The Kosovo police said that in yesterday's operation in the north of the country, where six units of the financial institution "Banka poštenska štedilnica" were closed, "about 1.600.000 euros, about 74.700.000 dinars, about 19.500 francs, about 13.800 US dollars" were seized. , about 40 Australian dollars", said the MIA correspondent from Pristina.

In connection with the case, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Djeljalj Svechlja, announced that yesterday's operation was carried out in "an illegal financial institution of Serbia in the Republic of Kosovo".

"In order to introduce legality, after communication and at the request of the competent institutions and with the authorization of the prosecutor, the Kosovo police in cooperation with the Tax Administration of Kosovo, in the four municipalities of the north of Kosovo, today carried out the operation of control and closure of six units of the so-called Postal Savings Bank... Rule of law and order, serving all citizens without any distinction will continue to be our goal to which we are continuously committed," Svechlja wrote on his Facebook page last night.

Last night's announcement by the Kosovo Police states that in the six branches of the Postal Savings Bank, in Severna Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic, in addition to the mentioned amount of money, "relevant documentation and evidence related to the case" was seized.

"Six branches of the so-called 'Postal Savings Bank' in the north of the country have been closed, and official signs for their closure have been placed in their facilities, while all further police actions will be carried out in cooperation and coordination with the justice authorities," said the police.
