At today's session, the Government of Kosovo made a decision to introduce visas for all citizens of Russia who want to enter or use the country for transit in any way.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that Russian citizens with regular, official and diplomatic passports, as well as those who have a biometric residence permit issued by the countries of the Schengen zone, are obliged to be equipped with a Kosovo visa in the future, either for entry, transit or stay in Kosovo.

Presenting the proposal, which was adopted at today's government session, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lisa Gashi emphasized that the proposed measure is in line with the last decision of the European Union regarding visas for Russian citizens.

– A visa is required for citizens of the Russian Federation upon entry into the Republic of Kosovo, without exceptions. This proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in accordance with the international obligations undertaken by Kosovo in coherence with the latest decision of the EU to cancel the agreement on facilitating the obtaining of Schengen visas for Russian citizens, said Gashi.
