Bulgaria recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic last week, officials said today.

From October 18 to 24, the number of new patients increased by as much as 50 percent compared to the previous week, ie 24.454 new cases were registered, which is the highest ever, writes BGNES.

The previous record was set at the end of March, when 25.290 cases were registered.

There was also an increase in deaths, by as much as 30,14 percent, but this is not the worst week in terms of deaths - the worst was from November 30 to December 6 last year, when 980 people died as a result of the virus.
