Billionaire Elon Musk posted a poll on Twitter asking users if he should step down as CEO of the company and asked people to vote. He said that he will abide by the results of the survey.

In several posts since the poll, Musk has indicated he is serious about stepping down as head of the company, but it's unclear what the future of Twitter will be if he steps down as CEO.

"As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for because it may come true," Musk wrote on Twitter.

He published the survey last night, and 58 percent of those polled responded positively.

After buying Twitter for $44 billion and taking over as CEO at the end of October, Musk fired several executives and about half of its employees. He gave the remaining workers an ultimatum that "they must work very hard or leave". Then another thousand employees left Twitter. Musk also fired employees who openly disagreed with him.

Musk took to Twitter to talk about freedom of speech, which is why he allowed some people to have their Twitter account back, such as former US President Donald Trump and "other people who spread fake news on social media".

Meanwhile, brands began removing their ads from Twitter. The billionaire has often said before that Twitter's finances are bad, and the survey he published, as the agencies say, may be an indication that Musk is not completely satisfied with what he is doing at the company as CEO.
