Constituted the advisory body for the use of names of historical and other famous persons

The first constitutive session of the advisory body for giving an opinion on the use of the name of a historical and other famous person in the name of an association and another legal entity was held today in the Government.

As the government press service informs, the role of this body will be advisory, that is, it will give an opinion on the character of historical figures, the way in which associations will be formed in order to avoid the abuse of certain figures who have a negative context throughout different eras.

The members unanimously elected Boban Petrovski from the Institute of History at the Faculty of Philosophy as chairman of the body, and Biljana Mickovska from the Ministry of Economy as vice-chairman.

The advisory body has seven permanent members who are nominated by the institutions themselves, and two more will be appointed by civil society organizations and other institutions, depending on the person to be discussed.

Permanent members of the body are: Biljana Ristovska-Josifovska, full professor at the Institute of National History at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius"-Skopje, Boban Petrovski, full professor at the Institute of History of the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje-for issues from the ancient period and the Middle Ages/Dr. Nikola Minov, associate professor at the Institute of History of the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje-for issues of the new and most recent century, academician Dragi Gjorgiev, regular member of MANU, Antonio Pavloski, special adviser at the Ministry of Culture, Biljana Mickovska, head of the Department of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, Safet Neziri, state adviser for educational policies at the Ministry for education and science and Ana Trajcheva - registrar in the Central Registry of the Republic of North Macedonia.

- The advisory body will have to submit an annual report for its work to the Government, no later than the first half of March in the current year for the previous year, for the purpose of informing it, the announcement from the Government states.
