The conflict in the Prosecutor's Office has run its course, it is over with Kocevski, says Kalajdziev
The conflict in the Public Prosecutor's Office, in my opinion, was what tipped the scales. Let's see if anyone will take on such a challenge now when the institution is in disintegration, and there is pressure from all sides, commented Professor Gordan Kalajdziev for "Sloboden Pechat" after the government initiated a procedure to dismiss the republican public prosecutor, Ljupco Kocevski.

-As far as I remember, they have not established disciplinary responsibility so far, but have dismissed them for poor results. Now, the conflict within the Public Prosecutor's Office, in my opinion, was what spilled the beans. Seen in this way, dismissal makes more sense than a simple change of government. To be honest, it is a miracle how Kocevski was elected at all. I was the first to react that he is anonymous and incapable of being a leader in such difficult times - Kalajdziev tells "Sloboden Pechat".
According to him, another problem is whether anyone will even take on such a challenge now.
-An institution in disintegration, pressures from all sides. It is enough that there are bad interpersonal relations, plus poor results - says the professor.
When asked how a disciplinary violation will be determined, given that according to the new Law on Public Prosecution, it can be one of the grounds for dismissal, Kalajdziev recalls the case when the former head of the Public Prosecution for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, Vilma Ruskovska, was dismissed.
-They invented an injury for Vilma that didn't exist. That's why they don't care. It's over with Kocevski - the professor adds.
The government yesterday initiated a procedure to dismiss Kocevski, citing as the reason that he illegally appointed, as the government said, the acting head of the High Public Prosecutor's Office in place of the suspended Mustafa Hajrluhai. The "war" between Hajrluhai and his deputy, Jovan Cvetanovski, has been going on for months.
