The Assembly published an announcement for re-equipping the SEC, with which it will elect two members of the SEC. According to the Electoral Code, VMRO-DPMNE, as the winning party in the elections in the Commission, should be represented by three members, SDSM by a president and one member, and one member each by the ruling party and the opposition party from the Albanian political bloc, i.e. the Vredi coalition and the European Front. . Two positions should be filled with members of the SEC on the proposal of VMRO-DPMNE. When the decision comes into force, the mandate of SEC member Radica Ristesca from SDSM will end before the expiration date.
According to the Electoral Code, in case of a change of political parties in opposition or political parties in power, the Assembly harmonizes the composition of the SEC, and the parties that have changed from power to opposition submit to the Assembly a proposal for the chairman of the SEC from the members in the existing composition ( in this case Boris Kondarko from SDSM) and a proposal for termination of office before the end of the mandate of one of the members proposed by them (in this case Radica Ristevska from SDSM). The parties that moved from opposition to power submit to the Assembly a proposal for the vice-president of the SEC from members from the existing composition, (in this case Abdush Demiri from Besa) and one member, for which the Assembly announces the election of one member of the SEC. After the member of the SEC, proposed by VMRO-DPMNE, Boban Stojanoski, was elected as the deputy general secretary of the Assembly, there was one vacancy in the SEC, which should be filled at the proposal of the ruling party.
The President, Vice-President and member of the SEC are elected by the Assembly with a two-thirds majority.
The Commission for Fair Representation is also in the process
Almost three months after the agreement between the prime minister Hristijan Mickoski and the leader of DUI Ali Ahmeti, the staffing of the ad hoc Commission for monitoring the appropriate and fair representation of citizens belonging to all communities finally entered the parliamentary procedure.
