After several hours of debate, the session of the Parliamentary Committee on Elections and Appointments was interrupted. This is the second day that MPs are debating the election of constitutional judges.

The MPs from VMRO-DPMNE, who today discussed the biography of Professor Rodna Zivkovska, believe that she deserves to be a constitutional judge, because her biography shows that she has dedicated her whole life to law.

The majority of MPs from the government were not present at the debate, and this was condemned by some MPs from the ranks of VMRO-DPMNE, emphasizing that such an important issue should not be debated in an empty hall.

Opposition MPs believe that a name like Ljubomir Joveski should not be a constitutional judge, because, as they say, "his inactivity has a large share in the trust in the judiciary, which is 8 percent."

On the contrary, according to them, Rodna Zivkovska is a prominent lawyer whose experience they are convinced will be useful for promoting the image of the Constitutional Court.

According to VMRO-DPMNE MP Eli Panova, the election of candidates for constitutional judges proposed by SDSM MPs will not improve the work of the Constitutional Court. She emphasizes that the biographies of the people proposed by the government are catastrophic and scandalous.

According to MP Brane Petrusevski, SDSM and DUI want to ensure further comfort in two ways.

- Firstly, by protecting everything they have done unconstitutionally by invading the Constitutional Court, and secondly, it is equally important that given the mandate of the constitutional judges, which is nine years, and knowing that "Very soon, as the rating of the Government melts, they will go into opposition, this will be a tool for obstructing the work of the future government and causing artificial crises," said Petrushevski.

Jadranka Potskova, MP of VMRO-DPMNE believes that when it is mentioned that someone is a candidate for constitutional judge, it means that he should be a well-known and proven lawyer.

Ljupcho Prendzov, MP from GROM emphasized that there is no will of the ruling majority to make a system of election of judges like the SCPC.

- Why must it be partisan at all costs, to put obedient people in order to control what will come out of the Assembly. For SDSM, the control of the Constitutional Court is always taken completely into their own hands. With judges like Dobrila Kacarska and Ljubomir Joveski, we will face five percent trust in the judiciary, said Prendzov.

MP Dime Velkov from SDSM stressed that he will never insult candidates nominated by the opposition, and expressed hope that the three candidates who will be elected will contribute to improving the work of the Constitutional Court.

The commission is due to rule on eight more judges. Apart from the proposal for Fatmir Skender to be elected constitutional judge, MPs should also review the biographies of Republic Public Prosecutor Ljubomir Joveski, Tanja Vasic Bozadzieva, who works at the Ministry of Justice as a state adviser on civil legislation, nominated by ruling parties and professors. Savo Klimovski and Rodna Zivkovska, retired judge Branko Sekulovski, prosecutor Todor Vitlarov, Administrative Court judge Vesna Jovanovska and Vojislav Dimovski, public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Ohrid, proposed by VMRO-DPMNE.

The Constitutional Court currently operates without four out-of-court judges, out of a planned nine judges. It has been incomplete for about a year since the mandates of three judges - Sali Murati, Elena Goseva and Nikola Ivanovski - expired at the end of May last year. In mid-January this year, the mandate of Judge Jovan Josifovski ended.
