The draft law amending the Law on Labor Relations in the second reading is on the agenda of today's session of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor and Social Policy.

The proposed amendments to the Law on Labor Relations envisage Sunday to be a day of weekly rest. This change, according to the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jagoda Shahpaska, balances the private and professional life of workers.

For about 92 percent of workers in the state, Sunday will be a day off. Workers in activities that are necessary to function will receive a 50 percent higher per diem. Shopping malls will work only one shift per week, from 10 a.m. to 18 p.m., and employees will receive a 100 percent higher per diem per week. The commercial entities in the malls will be obliged to pay an amount in the amount of 2% of the realized turnover on Sunday in the Budget, and these funds will be used for the establishment of new kindergartens.

The implementation of this law requires additional funds from the state budget. Based on the available data on the number of public sector employees who would work on Sunday (30 percent), the average salary in the country is estimated to be around 43 denars per month, or 100 denars per year.
Also, within this session, the MPs should review the Annual Report on the operation of the Agency for Supervision of Fully Funded Pension Insurance in 2020 and the Financial Statements of the Agency for Supervision of Fully Funded Pension Insurance in 2020.
