The European Parliament is on its feet because of the report on Serbia that should be adopted in May. Namely, for the first time in history, amendments to the draft report were leaked to the public before the text was harmonized.

Along with the amendments, the request that Telekom Serbia and its affairs not be mentioned in the report leaked to the public. A source from the European Parliament (EP) told H1 that the document requesting that Telecom Serbia not be mentioned in the report on Serbia's progress is actually a proposal that the rapporteur for Serbia, Vladimir Bilčik, brought to the meeting to harmonize the amendments.

Two EP sources confirmed to H1 that the rapporteur for Serbia, Vladimir Bilčik, presented to the MPs, as they say, "Telekom Serbia's angle" and the reasons why Telecom should not be mentioned in the report. Source no. Source H1 from another group in the EP says that a big storm has arisen and that the question is being raised about the motives of Vladimir Bilčik, who comes from the European People's Party, about the reasons why he stands for Telekom Serbia. Bilczyk reported to the EP's anti-corruption body that he had meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday – first with representatives of Igor Zhezhelj's Adria media group, and then with representatives of Telecom.

It should have been done by the EP according to the rules. As H1 learned in circles close to the members of the European Parliament, Bilčik is not the only one working to ensure that Telekom Serbia is not mentioned in that body's report on Serbia. Sources from two different groups in the European Parliament confirmed that Telekom, through its long-time partner Igor Zhezelj, hired a professional lobbyist from Croatia, Daniel Mondekar, to help them remove Telekom from the amendment to the report on Serbia.

Mondekar is reportedly meeting with MPs these days, especially those coming from Slovenia and Croatia, and is lobbying on behalf of Telecom. Mondekar is a former parliamentary representative, a member of the SDP.

He is now an advisor for relations with EU institutions. His connections reach the top of the European Commission, said a source from the EP, who also states that a few months ago, Mondekar helped the owner of Adria Media Group, Igor Zhezhelj, to buy the Euroactive portal.
