Car thieves in Germany have become very picky.

As many as seven out of ten stolen cars belong to the premium SUV segment, and although fewer cars were stolen in 2020 than the year before, the total damage is estimated at 214 million euros.

According to a report by the German Insurance Industry Association (GDV), 10.697 stolen cars with comprehensive insurance were reported last year, which is significantly less than the previous year (14.229). Insurance companies paid an average of over 20.000 euros to cover the damage, writes Carscups.
