Kotsarev: I would not comment anything about Academician Bejeti

The president of MANU, academician Ljupco Kocarev, refused to comment on them the statements of an academic Abdulmenaf Bexheti that he "accepts the thrown down gauntlet" from an academic Katica Qulafkova for the establishment of a third Albanian academy.

He does not want to talk about the divisions in the Academy, but he announced that he expects the Assembly of MANU to meet after the holidays for all issues. Kotsarev also confirmed to "Sloboden Pechat" that a session was scheduled at MANU for the French proposal, but that it was postponed until after the holidays.

"I would not comment anything about Academician Begeti. Those issues should be discussed within the Academy. After vacations, if one of the departments requests, the Assembly will hold a session. The session, on the other hand, for the French proposal, it is true that it was scheduled, then postponed until after the holidays. We postponed it because it was for the day it was scheduled, and we still did not have the French proposal for inspection", Kotsarev told us and added that if conclusions emerge from the session, they will be shared with the public.

The divisions and misunderstandings between the academics began after the election of new members of MANU, and culminated after the French proposal and the protests against the acceptance of the negotiation framework, in which President Kotsarev and Academician Kulavkova participated. Whether MANU will be divided into parallel uninational academies or the views of some academics will remain isolated will be clearer in September.
