If the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski he is conducting his campaign with anti-Bulgarian views and is opposed to the inclusion of Bulgarians in the country's Constitution, this will block the path of the Republic of North Macedonia to the EU, said the Bulgarian MEP and rapporteur of the European Parliament for the country. Ilhan Kucuk.

"The process of negotiations between the EU and the Republic of North Macedonia has not yet started, because the screening is waiting to be completed, which will take some time. We know from the Bulgarian experience that it lasts from a year and a half to two years, and the grades for that screening must be given," says Kyuchuk for the Sofia television bTV.

The "French proposal" for unblocking the European integration of North Macedonia is a proposal of the European Union, because it was accepted by consensus by all EU members, and received the necessary political support, both in the Bulgarian and Macedonian Parliaments, said the Bulgarian MEP and reporter. of the European Parliament for the country, Ilhan Quchuk as a guest in the program "Ova utro" on the Sofia television bTV Novinite.

In the same show, the Bulgarian MEP Andrej Kovachev was also a guest, and bTV on its website reports some of his statements as those of Kyuchuk.

Kyucuk adds in his statement that the process of negotiations between the EU and the Republic of North Macedonia has not yet started, because the screening is waiting to be completed, which will take some time.

- We know from the Bulgarian experience that it lasts from a year and a half to two years and the grades for that screening must be given, said Kyuchuk, who is a member of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) and is a member of the liberal MP in the European Parliament. "Renewal of Europe" group.

Kovachev, for his part, stated that if the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, leads his campaign with attitudes against Bulgaria and opposes the inclusion of Bulgarians in the country's Constitution, it will block the path of the Republic of North Macedonia to the EU.

- Unfortunately, in the Macedonian Parliament, the "French proposal" was accepted only with the votes of the ruling parties. The opposition categorically opposed this proposal and announced that it will not vote for the amendments to the Constitution and the inclusion of Bulgarians in their Constitution. This, I would say, is a very sad development of events, says Kovachev in the statement, which bTV broadcasts as a statement of Kyuchuk.

According to the "French proposal", the negotiations of the country by clusters and chapters should start after the completion of the screening process, but also after the inclusion of the Bulgarians in the Preamble of the Constitution among the rest of the peoples living in the country.

Kovachev, who is a member of the party Citizens for European Development of Citizens (GERB) and the Parliamentary Group of the European People's Party (EPP) in the European Parliament, expressed hope that the Macedonian opposition will change its position and open the way for the country's negotiations with EU.
