Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios secured a place in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon by defeating the American Brandon Nakashima after three hours and 10 minutes of play with 3:2 in sets, 4:6,6:4,7:6,3:6,6: 2.

Kyrgios again played a match in his style, fast and attractive, but a shoulder injury forced him to seek a medical time-out at one point in the second set. His body language and face indicated that the injury was no ordinary one, but Kyrgios still managed to win the third set in a tense tie-break.

In the fourth set, Kyrgios "gave up" the fight after losing the seventh game on his serve, and then allowed another break for 3:6 and leveling at 2:2 in sets.

However, in the decisive fifth set, the Australian managed to overcome the problems with the injury, made two breaks and celebrated with a convincing 6:2 to qualify for the quarterfinals where he will play with Christian Garin.

The Chilean Garin also eliminated Alex De Minor in five sets with a score of 3:2 (2:6,5:7,7:6,6:47:6).

De Minor had a 0:2 lead in the sets, but Garin managed to turn around and won the "super tie-break" of the fifth set with a score of 10:6, which meant a place in the quarterfinals.

Taylor Fritz from the USA was the most convincing, eliminating Jason Kubler 6:3,6, 1,6:4, XNUMX:XNUMX in two hours and one minute.

In the women's competition, the first quarterfinalist is Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan, who defeated the Croatian Petra Martic 7:5,6, 3:XNUMX.
