Kimberly West is the new Hague prosecutor for KLA crimes
American prosecutor Kimberly West has been appointed to the position of chief prosecutor for crimes committed by KLA fighters in The Hague, that court announced today.
In the announcement of the court it is written that West was named "after the process organized by the European Union".
In the United States, West was a federal prosecutor and a partner in a private law firm. From 2008 to 2013, she also worked in the prosecution of the Hague Tribunal in the trials against the former president of the Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadzic, and the leader of the Bosnian Croats, Jadranko Prlic.
Kimberly West will replace Jack Smith as attorney general, who returned to the US last November and took over the investigation into classified documents found on former US President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, acting Attorney General was Alex Whiting.
The first chief prosecutor was David Schwendiman, also an American.
