Kyiv condemns the Russian elections in Crimea
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned the Russian elections in the occupied Crimea, stressing that it violates international law.
- Once again, we emphasize that the results of the "elections" in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea are worthless, and the "elections" themselves are illegitimate, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that those involved in the "preparation and holding of the 'elections' will be prosecuted in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine", reports Beta.
From September 6 to 8, Russian authorities in the occupied region held a vote for the Russian-imposed Crimean parliament, the municipal legislature of the port city of Sevastopol and members of local councils.
