Kiev finally explained the intrusion of Ukrainian soldiers into Russian territory
The incursions of Ukrainians into the Russian border region of Kursk are a consequence of Moscow's aggression against Ukraine, said today Mykhailo Podoliak, a senior adviser to the administration in Kyiv.
For three days, Kiev did not comment on allegations that Ukrainian forces invaded Russian territory.
Even in today's address, Podoliak did not confirm that the attacks were the work of the Ukrainian regular army.
"Russia has always believed that restrictive legal norms do not apply to it, and therefore it can attack the territories of neighboring countries with impunity and hypocritically claim the inviolability of its own territory," he added.
The advisor stated that even war has its own rules, so "the aggressor inevitably pays the price of his actions".
Russian forces are still facing a major incursion by Ukrainian troops into Kursk, an unexpected setback for the Kremlin, whose military has been making progress along the entire front for some time.
The Ukrainian army launched an offensive on Tuesday with 1.000 troops and armored vehicles, the Russian General Staff said, adding that it was doing everything to push Ukrainian troops out of its territory.
