Kevin McCarthy: The US-Mexico border crisis is a higher priority than Ukraine aid
The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, said today that solving the crisis on the US-Mexico border is a higher priority than helping Ukraine.
"For me, the priority is America and our borders. I support sending Ukraine the weapons it needs, but I strongly support border protection. So we have to find a way to do it," McCarthy said on CBS.
He pointed out that the American border is important and that more Americans die on their borders than in Ukraine.
-Ukraine will not receive a large aid package if our border is not secure, said McCarthy.
