Doha will allocate 60 million dollars for aid to the least developed countries, the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, announced today, quoted by TASS.

Opening the Fifth United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries in the Qatari capital, Al Thani called on the international community to follow Qatar's example and "take the initiative" to help the Doha agenda, calling it a "humanitarian duty". the peoples of the least developed countries.

The Doha Action Program is a "road map" for the development of the mentioned countries, agreed in March last year. It has six key goals: poverty eradication; use of scientific, technical and innovation potential; support for structural reforms; development of international trade and regional integration; adoption of measures related to climate change and recovery from the pandemic, as well as activation of international solidarity.
