A group of parents who are not residents of the municipality of Karpos, and whose children go to kindergartens in this municipality, received a notification that the children will be written off on June 10. The parents call this a "shameful act" and ask the municipality to meet them and show solidarity in times of crisis.

The Mayor of Karposh, Stevcho Jakimovski, announced a few months ago that the kindergartens in the municipality will remain open only to its residents.

"Today, 10.05.2022, through the kindergarten teachers we received a notification that all children whose parents do not have an address with an ID card from the municipality of Karpos, will be enrolled from the kindergarten on 10.06.2022. In conditions of global crisis where every family is faced with the challenges of inflation, the municipality of Karposh turns its back on one of the most vulnerable categories of families, young parents who in the struggle for existence and in the absence of available places in kindergartens in their municipalities sought salvation by enrolling "their children in some of the kindergartens in this municipality," said the parents in a letter sent to the media.

"We, as concerned parents, call for solidarity from the municipality, which has so far met the needs of many of our fellow citizens. Believe me, we would not take our children for several kilometers to the kindergartens in the municipality of Karposh if they were not forced by the insufficient number of vacancies in the municipalities where we live. "At the same time, we would like to send an appeal to the Government to react through the Ministry of Education and find a solution to this problem of the several hundred families surprised by this decision," the letter reads.

In conditions of global crisis, where the member states of the European Union are trying to help their citizens through measures, we are facing a situation where due to a hasty decision the existence of many families is put at risk, say the parents.

"When making this shameful decision, the councilors elected by the people forget who will be most surprised by this decision, and that is our children. We all know what a challenge it is, and how painful it is for a child to be separated from their parent and get used to a new environment like kindergarten, our children have gone that way to now be literally left at the mercy of a system that is we hope it will finally work for the interest of the citizens. If the same system does not leave us in the lurch, it will be a shameful act, first of all for this municipality but also for the Government of a country aspiring to become a member of the European Union. "Think, our dear fellow citizens, members of the council of the municipality of Karpos, what message you send to all those young married couples who want to start a family, let the Prime Minister and the Government think what message is sent to young married couples who are the future of our country." , says a letter signed by "concerned parents".
