Canonization of the new Macedonian saint Kiril Lesochki

 Нa holy divine liturgy in the Tetovo Cathedral "St. Cyril and Methodius", today m. will be canonizedthe Acedonian educator and abbot of Lesochki Kiril Pejčinović. The celebration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with Easter morning service, cat 8:30 a.m. is the welcome of Archbishop Stefan and the bishops of the MOC - OA, and then at 9:00 a.m. the Holy Divine Liturgy begins and the proclamation of Kiril Pejčinović as a saint Kiril Lesochki.

The faithful will have the opportunity, during the liturgy and after it, to visit the kivot where the holy relics of the saint and his first icon will be displayed. They are appealing from the Tetovo-Gostivar Diocese to respect the established order in the temple, in order to observe the order of the liturgy and to enable everyone to bow down and ask for prayerful intercession from the venerable Kiril Lesochki.

The first icon with the image of Venerable Kiril Lesochki was made by the painter Kiril Zlatanov from Skopje.

The author of the archetypal and official icon of Venerable Kiril Pejcinovic is Kiril Zlatanov from Skopje. The icon has been approved by the commission for the canonization of saints of the MOC. The icon is not intended to be a photograph, but it depicts the Deified image of the saint in the Kingdom of Heaven. According to the archetypal icon, other artists are expected to make icons of Venerable Kiril Pejčinović, informed by the Tetovka-Gostivar Diocese.

The canonization of Abbot Kiril Lesochki as a saint and inclusion in the diptych of saints began last night with the Easter evening service in the Lesochki monastery "Saint Athanasius".

- This is an act with historical significance, a work which, with God's help and through the intercession of the reverend, will bring spiritual fruits for our people and our Church, and at the same time represents an extraordinary part of the church tradition, which is beneficial to the soul to witness with personal presence . Tetovo and the Pologsk region, as well as our faithful people throughout the homeland and the world, receive another prayer patron, offering a gift to the Catholic Orthodoxy, and to the glory of God. May it be many years old - ordered from Tetovo-Gostivar Orthodox Diocese.
The Diocese informs the citizens and believers that today from 6 am to 12 pm there will be a special traffic and security regime around the Tetovo cathedral church.
Kiril Pejčinović was born in the Tetovo village of Tearce in 1771. The first beginnings of his education were in the village of Leshok, and then in the monastery of "St. Jovan Bigorski" in Debar. After his father sold the property in Tearce, together with Cyril, they went to Sveta Gora where they became monks. After some time, Cyril returned to Tetovo, and from there to the "Holy Virgin Mary" monastery in Kicevo.
In 1801, he became abbot of Mark's monastery near Skopje. He restored the damaged monastery and collected old texts, which enriched the monastery library. He opened a monastery school, and here he wrote his first book "Mirror", printed in Budim in 1816.
Pejčinović lived in the Markov monastery for twenty years, after which he returned to his native Tearce. He restored the Lešok monastery with the help of the believers and opened a school where he taught the local population.
Kiril Pejčinović died on March 12, 1845 in the Lešok monastery and is buried in the church yard.
The great Macedonian educator, national teacher and abbot of the Lešok Monastery, in addition to "Mirror", also wrote the works: "Consolation to Sinners", "Life of Prince Lazara", as well as the "Epitaph" which is engraved on his tombstone.
