Candidates for Paris 2024: Dodevski and Georgievska with medals at the President Cup in Istanbul

Macedonian taekwondo continues to be successful on the international stage, after the historic success of The Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, where Dejan Georgievski won silver.

Our country participated in one of the strongest taekwondo tournaments in the world, the sixth "President Cup 2021" G1 in Istanbul, Turkey, a tournament that is scored to win the Olympic norm at the next Olympic Games to be held in Paris in 2024.

Filip Dodevski in the category -87 kg. won the silver medal with three victories over Ahmet Keskin from Turkey, then Taha Bitzer also from Turkey, also the current European champion under 21.

He also triumphed against Rafael Kamalov (Russia, second in the world rankings in this category), and in the final he was defeated by Roberto Botha (Italy, who is the current bronze medalist of the European Championship).

Anamarija Georgievska won the bronze medal in the -67kg category with two victories over Aise Kiracaoglu of Turkey and Andrea Mokamu of Romania. In the semifinals, our competitor lost to Atanasia Mitsopoulou (Greece).

Filip Stamenov and Marko Avramovski had great fights, while Dejan Georgievski did not play in this tournament due to minor injuries.
