Canada imposes additional sanctions on Russian oligarchs and bans imports and exports of targeted luxury goods from Russia in response to Ottawa's response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

According to the official statement, the additional sanctions will restrict the work of 14 people, including Russian oligarchs, members of their families and close associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The import ban will target Russian goods, which include alcoholic beverages, seafood and diamonds. The export ban applies to luxury goods such as footwear, clothing and jewelry.
