"Put on your seat belt" campaign in Bitola for safer road users

In Bitola today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Republic Council for Traffic Safety implemented part of the "Put on a seat belt" campaign, with the aim of increasing safety and raising awareness among drivers and passengers about the use of seat belts.
- The use of seat belts in vehicles makes it impossible to hit the driver, i.e. the passenger, with his face in the windshield or hit the body with his knees. The human body remains in a sitting position even under the influence of inertia. Seat belts contribute significantly to reducing the number of deaths in traffic accidents. Statistics show that in such a case the number of deaths decreases by 60% - said the president of RSBSP Gordana Kozuvarovska.
Assistant Minister of Public Relations in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Toni Angelovski, said that immediately when you get into a vehicle, you should put on a seat belt.
- Any excuse is unacceptable. By doing so, everyone contributes to their safety. The belt protects against more serious consequences if a traffic accident occurs. I thank all the citizens who, with their responsible behavior and respect for traffic rules and regulations, contribute to safer traffic. I also thank the Faculty of Safety, schools, other institutions that joined us in the activities to raise awareness and increase the traffic culture - said Angelovski.
The citizens of Bitola were also given educational material to show the benefits of using seat belts.
