The supplementary budget seriously reduces funds for unproductive costs in the amount of 200 million euros, money that will be reallocated to overcome the consequences of the global economic crisis. What is important in this supplementary budget is that each reallocation of funds is aimed at greater protection of living standards of citizens, especially vulnerable categories, financial support of companies' liquidity and more subsidies for farmers in order to increase food production, informs today SDSM spokesman Darko Kaevski.

He told a news conference that this was a responsible, domestic step at a time when the world was facing food and energy shortages.

- Even in times of global economic crisis, we managed to increase the minimum wage to 18.000 denars. An agreement was reached with the Trade Union for a record increase of 15 percent of wages in education and child protection, followed by a period of wage growth in all sectors in line with the growth of the minimum wage. A new methodology for permanent and sustainable growth of pensions has been agreed, and the next increase will be realized in September this year. The average salary today is 31.080 denars, which is a realization of the key promise of SDSM for an average salary of 500 euros. All this is an indicator that the Macedonian economy is stable and competitive and ready to face all challenges, explained Kaevski from the headquarters of SDSM.
