Juventus in trouble - embezzlement of 50 million euros, Nedved is also a suspect
A total of six people, including Torino club president Andrea Agnelli, vice-president Pavel Nedved and former sporting director Fabio Paratici, are under investigation for alleged embezzlement of 50m euros.
The authorities will pick up all the necessary documents, and the disputed time span is from 2018 to 2021, inform the Italian media.
The transfer, which included an exchange with Barcelona, is reportedly particularly controversial, with Miralem Pjanic leaving for Spain and Arthur for Turin.
- The inspectors of the Economic and Financial Police Unit in Turin were instructed to find documentation and other useful elements related to the financial statements of the club approved in the years from 2019 to 2021, and related to the purchase and sale of the right to sports performance of players and regular preparation of financial statements.
The activities at the moment are aimed at determining the crime of false communication of companies and issuing invoices for non-existent transactions, say the top management and executives in the field of financial and sports management. Various transfer operations of professional players and officials provided by some agents involved in relative intermediaries are considered - is stated in the official statement of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Turin.
Italy's financial police have carried out searches in Juventus' headquarters at Continassa. Juventus' financial dealings in the transfer market from 2018 to 2021 for sums up to € 50 million are being investigated.
