PE "Water and Sewerage" with a warning: Do not use drinking water for filling pools and irrigation, so that there are no restrictions (VIDEO)
Years ago, PE "Water and Sewerage" faces huge water losses in the summer, as a result of irresponsible behavior of citizens who use water to irrigate fields, wash carpets and cars and fill swimming pools. The head of the collection department, Zoran Nedevski, today in the Skopje corner of the "Morning briefing" on "Slobodna TV" appeals for the water to be used only for drinking.
- If the citizens use the drinking water properly, they will receive a proper service throughout the summer. If the citizens have no other way to irrigate the yards and gardens, we urge them to do so in the late evening or early morning, in order not to burden the water supply network, says Nedevski.
He informed that the company has seven wells, but most often three are put into use.
- All seven wells are ready, their quality is checked daily, but we put into use 2-3 wells, in extreme cases, when the water from the Rasce spring does not meet the needs of the citizens. We had such an example recently during the curfew, when we noticed a drastic increase in water consumption. But even at the moment the wells are being released, says Nedevski.
However, not only the citizens, the drinking water is illegally used by the municipalities and PE Parks and Greenery, for irrigation of the parks.
- We held several meetings with PE "Parks and Greenery", which is responsible for maintaining greenery in Skopje. We asked for watering to take place in the evening and in the morning. "I hope that this will be respected, otherwise we will be forced to take sanctions, because it is more important for the citizens to get water, than for the greenery to be irrigated," he added.
The head of the collection department reminds that the possibility for payment in installments of the overdue debts is in progress.
- From June 15 to July 31, the action for payment of installments of arrears will last. Depending on the amount of the debt, the users can get the opportunity to pay the overdue bills in 24 installments. After the action started, about 110 users used this opportunity, their debt in the amount of about 7 million denars was serviced, said Nedevski.
