Cardiac surgeon Dr Sasko Jovev stated that even after his dismissal from the position of director of the state Cardiosurgery, the clinic remains functional and that he agreed with the team to remain at the service of the citizens for the time being so that, as he said, they would not cause major problems.

"We have decided for the time being that the clinic will function as before. We agreed between us that we will remain in the service of the citizens, that we should not cause major problems and we agreed that it will go further, we will see how it will develop", said Dr. Jovev in a guest appearance on Sitel TV's Dnevnik.

He said that the conversation he had with the Minister of Health, Fatmir Mejiti, was short, but not entirely constructive because they did not find a solution regarding the dismissal.

What will be his next steps, he said that he and the legal team will decide this weekend.

"There are times when we go aggressively, there are times when we try to solve the situation as benignly as possible." That will be decided by the lawyers, because that is their job. Although as a surgeon I am fighting and our clinic is unique and fighting and progressing, I think there were a lot of vagueness and misunderstandings and I don't want, as they say, to go to the knife, but to solve the problem properly," said Dr. Job.

There is currently no job offer from a private health facility, but he has received offers from two clinics outside the state from people who, he said, are very close to him and who "see and know what's going on."

When asked what the consequences would be if he left the Clinic for Cardiac Surgery, he answered that he had developed a functional team, but that, nevertheless, he was somehow the main link in that team.

"Not that they won't be able to function, but it won't be the same, both in terms of the difficulty of the interventions, and the number of patients. My team is extraordinary, they follow me, study, work, know and can, but it will not be the same", added Dr. Jovev.
