The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy today handed over the position of Minister of Labor and Social Policy. The newly appointed Minister Jovanka Trenchevska took over the position from the current Minister Jagoda Shahpaska.

With that, the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Trenchevska officially starts managing this sector.

"It is an honor and pleasure for me to lead the sector in which for years I actively participated in the creation of social policies aimed at citizens, and especially the most vulnerable category. My priority will be the promotion of social protection rights, the provision of regular and secure pensions, the protection and observance of workers' rights, and the care of the youngest. We continue to build a society together for all. "Gender equality remains high on my and the agenda of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy," said Trencevska.

The current Minister of Labor and Social Policy Shahpaska wished her successor Trenchevska successful and fruitful work. She informed her about the current projects that the Ministry is working on, about the anticipated dynamics for their realization and about the possible obstacles they face.

Trenchevska comes from the managerial position of the State Labor Inspectorate, and previously held the position of State Secretary in the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. She has been part of this ministry for 19 years with her active participation in the creation of policies for gender equality of women and men, where she has a leading position in this sector. Her career so far has been aimed at promoting workers' rights as well as gender equality between men and women. Minister Trenchevska has a master's degree in sociological sciences.
