Janceva: We have submitted an initiative for an extraordinary session of the Council of the City of Skopje to help the victims of the accident in Bulgaria

Ljubica Janceva / Morning briefing

The advisory group of SDSM, DUI and the coalition in the Council of the City of Skopje, today submitted a request for convening an emergency session of the Council.

Ljubica Janceva, coordinator of the advisory group of SDSM in the Council of the City of Skopje, on behalf of the advisory group of SDSM, DUI and the coalition in the Council of the City of Skopje expressed condolences to the families of those who died in the tragic accident in Bulgaria.

At the session, the only item on the agenda would be to help the families of our fellow citizens who died in the terrible bus accident in Bulgaria.

"We welcome the proposal to provide two million denars to help the families of the victims, of course we should see the possibility to increase that amount further. However, we should not wait for the regular session of the Council, but it can be provided with an extraordinary session for which today as an advisory group we are submitting an initiative. Skopje is a city of solidarity, a city that lends a hand to anyone who needs help, it is the same now, without dividing people by religion and ethnicity. Today we put politics aside, we call for unity to help our fellow citizens as soon as possible. The accident in Bulgaria killed 45 people, most of them Skopje men and women. "We believe that this initiative will be accepted and that the session will be held as soon as possible to help the victims reach as soon as possible," Janceva said.
