Today in the Basic Court in Struga, the three accused doctors Muhammad Asani, his son Blairton Asani and another gynecologist from the hospital appeared at a hearing related to the case Yaldz Veaposka, whose uterus, kidney and ovary were removed during caesarean section.

Both Dr Muhammad Asani and son Blairton Asani have so far failed to appear at hearings, so they have been adjourned. In the courtroom, the former director of the Struga hospital who gave birth to Veaposka stated that he is absolutely not guilty, and the other two doctors indicated that they do not feel guilty.

Three doctors from Struga accused of removing the organs of the mother Yildz Veaposka - punctured the renal artery during the caesarean section

Then Veaposka testified, who was visibly disturbed by the confrontation with the defendants and by recalling the days in the hospital that she spoke about in the courtroom.

– When I said that my organs were removed, I felt sick, I could not speak, I was not well. The referee gave a five minute break. I explained the whole situation, from the beginning to the end, that is, until I woke up to KARIL. That my pregnancy was managed by Dr. Muhammad Asani in his house in Struga, he scheduled the delivery the day he was on duty at the Struga hospital, I explained about the period after the operation until I fell into a coma. I said that I was in pain all the time and they only treated me with painkiller injections and did not do any other examination. Their lawyers asked me if I had signed my consent before the operation, but I said that I had signed my consent not to have my uterus, kidney and ovary removed, but consent to the caesarean section, Veaposka told "Sloboden Pechat".

Veaposka also filed a claim for damages, and the amount will be known after the expert examination. The next hearing is scheduled for March 10 at 10 a.m. in the same court.

Last year in May, the Struga Public Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against the ex-director of the Struga hospital and gynecologist Dr. Muhamed Asani, his son Blairton Asani and another gynecologist from the same hospital, because the mother from Debar Jaldz Veaposka was left without a uterus during childbirth. , kidney and ovary.

According to the OJO, the first accused as a specialist gynecologist and obstetrician, the second accused as a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics and the third accused as a gynecologist and obstetrician employed at the Struga hospital, applied an obviously unsuitable means and method of treatment to the patient, causing her health condition to deteriorate .

Veaposka was admitted to the hospital on August 27, 2020 to give birth at 40 weeks of pregnancy. She was received by Dr. Muhammad Asani, who guided her as a patient throughout the pregnancy and made the decision that the delivery should be performed by caesarean section. During the operation, his son also assisted him, but during the caesarean section, they damaged the left renal artery, the prosecutor's office wrote in the public announcement.

As a result of this damage, the health condition of the patient worsened, which was unstable, but despite that, the defendants did not take any measures to determine the reasons for the deterioration of her condition. With the therapy they gave her, they further worsened the patient's condition and delayed the reaction, due to which she suffered a huge loss of blood and went into a state of shock.

In such conditions, the first defendant with the assistance of the third defendant decided to perform a new operation to stop the bleeding, to remove her uterus and left ovary, although there were no changes or injuries to these organs. After the bleeding did not stop after the patient was closed, they decided to have another operation where the surgeons discovered that the bleeding was coming from damage to the renal artery caused by the cesarean section. Due to the impossibility of reconstructing the renal artery, it had to be ligated and the left kidney removed in order to save the victim's life.

When this was done and the bleeding was stopped, the patient was referred to the "Mother Teresa" State Clinic in Skopje for treatment.
