Andrej Jakimovski once again showed that he is a great reinforcement for the Macedonian senior national team in the first phase of this cycle of the pre-qualifications for the European Championship 2025.

When it was most needed, together with Nenad Dimitrijevic and captain Vojdan Stojanovski, they brought the much-desired turn, both in the game and in the result against Slovakia in SRC Calais.

- I think that at the beginning we did not have good enough communication, especially in defense. After the advice from the expert team, at halftime, we also changed the defense. I played in the "4" position, it worked quite well at certain moments of the game. Apart from that, their high percentage of realization gave us additional problems. Especially in the long shot. Even players who are not considered shooters managed to score. In a certain period of the match, I think they had even 60% conversion.

In the end, we somehow managed to pull off the win, and achieve the initial goal of having two wins in August. In the finish, when we had to, Neno and Vojdan and I were guessing, we got what we were looking for in most of the meeting. We took the lead, and when we got to the precious advantage, we didn't let it go. We achieved another very important victory, which gives us the opportunity to finish first, and to go further in the Euro-qualifications - said Jakimovski after the match with the Slovaks.

The next third match selected by head coach Aleksandar Yonchevski in the pre-qualifications for the European Championship 2025 will be held on November 10 this year at home against Norway, which also has a maximum record of two victories so far.
