"Apology is not enough" - Afghan family angry over US attack in which ten members lost
An apology is not enough for the survivors of the Ahmadi family in Afghanistan, whose ten members, including seven children, were killed in a US drone strike in late August.
Enak Ahmadi, whose daughter Malika was killed on August 29, when a rocket hit her older brother's car, said that the family is asking Washington to determine who fired the missile and to punish the soldiers responsible for the attack, "Blic" reports.
"It is not enough for them to tell us that they are sorry. "The United States needs to find the person who did it." said Ahmadi.
He added that the family is seeking financial compensation for their loss, as well as several family members to be relocated to a third country, but did not specify in which.
U.S. and other media outlets in Kabul reported after the attack that the driver of the affected car, Zemari Ahmadi, was a longtime employee of a U.S. aid organization and that there was no evidence of the Pentagon's claim that his vehicle contained explosives.
The rocket hit the vehicle as it entered the yard of the family home, at a moment when his children were running towards Zemari.
