Hamas accused Israel of "flagrant violations of the ceasefire" in the northern Gaza Strip, but said it was "still committed to a ceasefire as long as the enemy surrenders". The Associated Press reports that in a statement Hamas called on mediators to intervene to maintain the ceasefire.

Earlier, the IDF said several soldiers were slightly injured after "three explosive devices were detonated near IDF soldiers at two different locations in the northern Gaza Strip."

It was claimed that "at one of the locations, the terrorists opened fire on the soldiers, who returned fire."

During the lull in fighting, Israeli and Hamas fighters are believed to be in close proximity to each other in northern Gaza.

The truce is on its fifth day.
