The leader of the Party for Democratic Action (SDA), Bakir Izetbegović, who on Sunday convincingly lost in the election race for the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH against the opponent Denis Beqirović (SDP), said today that it is still too early to think about further steps in politics. and that it is important that his party did well at the polls.

- It is important that the SDA went well and that we will have good positions in the House of Representatives, as well as in the Houses of Peoples, said Izetbegović after the failed session of the House of Peoples, which was supposed to discuss the abolition of excise taxes.

Asked about his further aspirations after the election defeat, Izetbegovic said that he has not thought about it yet, because he thinks it is too early, Sarajevo media reported.

Asked whether agreements with Milorad Dodik (SNSD) and Dragan Čović (HDZ BiH) are possible, as well as the opposition from Republika Srpska for possible post-election coalitions, Izetbegović said that he now sees it as an impossible mission.

- The way they imagined things is at the level of some wishes and not reality, he said and added that he did not talk to the former coalition partners Dodik and Covic.

He believes that the post-election coalitions should be formed in such a way that they are stable and only then can the talks continue.

When it comes to the amendments to the Electoral Law, Izetbegović says he is not optimistic.

- We can only poison relations and complicate the situation by trying to change something important in the next few months, he said.
