Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, after becoming the youngest prime minister in the world at the age of 34, tomorrow awaits her uncertain elections in which all three leading parties have approximately equal chances of victory, writes the Guardian.

The pre-election survey of the public broadcasting service Ila shows that the National Coalition Party (NKP) has the support of 19,8 percent, the far-right nationalist Finland Party 19,5 percent, and the Social Democrats (SDP) of Sana Marin 18,7 percent.

Marin, now 37, took over the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the prime ministership in 2019 with the support of her voters who see her as a role model for a new generation of young leaders, while critics have pointed out that she has behaved inappropriately and irresponsibly.

Marin's Social Democrats have started the process of joining NATO, but that doesn't mean they will finish it, the BBC said this week.

Abandoning military neutrality was a key move by her government after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and now 80 percent of Finns support joining NATO.

However, amid a looming recession and rising inflation, Sana Marin's right-wing opponents have accused her of over-borrowing and failing to get public spending under control, so the latest poll a day before the vote shows the SDP slightly behind its two main rivals.
