Several thousand computer services around the world have been hit by a hacker attack known as a ransomware, Italy's National Agency for Cyber Security (ACN) announced today, warning various organizations to take action to protect their systems.
ACN CEO Roberto Baldoni said the intention was to damage software with the hacking attack, adding that the blow was big, Reuters reported.
The Italian news agency ANSA states that servers were compromised in certain European countries, such as France and Finland, and attacks also occurred in the United States and Canada.
