Alkaloid's historic first win in the European League
The Macedonian handball champion RK Alkaloid recorded the first triumph in the EHF European League after defeating La Rioja tonight with 28:27.
The guests from Spain played well in most of the first half, and at one point they even led with a five-goal difference 10:5. However, the Macedonian representative increased the pace and in the end of the first part managed to get to "minus two" at halftime (15:13).
The beginning of the second part belonged to Alkaloid, so very quickly Lazarov's team had a lead of 18:14. Alkaloid's lead was followed by La Rioja's 5:0 run for 19:18.
However, the Macedonian team did not give up and fought bravely until the end when they broke the Spanish rival and celebrated with 28:27.
Mitev with ten goals he was the most effective, five he achieved Johnov, and four Velkovski, while he was brilliant on goal Galevski with 17 successful interventions.
