Drita Islami on Saturday in Limassol (Cyprus) at the European Team Championship - Third League in Athletics won first place in the 400 meters hurdles and set a new Macedonian record with a result of 57.53 seconds.

The other two leagues (First and Second Leagues) are being held this weekend, while the Super League was held on May 29-30. If we compare the result with the others from the same discipline, Drita will be in the high 13 position.

Also, the result of our athlete has already been updated in the ranking list of the European Athletic Association, in the 400 m discipline. with obstacles is on the 107th place and is the best ranked athlete from Macedonia.

According to this ranking list, only three athletes from the Balkans have better time than Drita, Dimitra from Greece (57.06), Agatha from Slovenia (57.38) and Sanda from Romania (57.48).

We can expect that if Islami keeps his great form, next weekend at the Balkan Senior Championship in Belgrade (Serbia) Drita will fight for a medal.

Also with this result Drita fulfilled the norm (57.95 seconds) for participation in the European Championship which will be held next year in Munich (Germany).

An American athlete broke a 31-year-old world record
