Public sector workers in Ireland, the country's biggest employer, will be banned from using their electrical appliances from next week to set an example as the government encourages people to cut down on electricity consumption, Politika rs reports.

This ban applies to portable heaters, kettles and fridges and is part of the "Reduce Use!" campaign.

The goal is to reduce electricity consumption in the public sector by 5 to 10 percent, and investors are required to occupy as little space as possible, owners to turn off the heating at least one hour before it stops working, and to reduce consumption during prime time.
