Iran investigates attack on Azerbaijan's embassy in Tehran that left dead and injured

Iran condemned the armed attack on the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran and said it was investigating the attack with "high priority and sensitivity, with special instructions from the political and security authorities".
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Nasser Khanani, said that they strongly condemn the attack on the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran, in which one person was killed and two were injured.
He expressed his deep condolences to the Azerbaijani people and government. – The scale of this attack and the motive of the attackers are being investigated with high priority and sensitivity, with special instructions from the political and security authorities. The results of the preliminary investigations of the competent authorities and institutions show that personal motives are behind this action, Kanani said.
Tehran police chief Hussein Rahimi informed that the attacker was detained after the attack.
This morning, an attacker killed the head of the security service of the Azerbaijani Embassy with a Kalashnikov automatic weapon. Two embassy security personnel were also injured while thwarting the attack, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry said.
