Prof. Dr. Aspazija Sofianova, top pediatrician, recently surprised when he decided to fly over Krushevo with a paraglider. With a lot of adrenaline and a lot of love, she talks about this experience, but also about many other topics related to her both as a doctor and as a woman...

You recently flew with a paraglider over Krushevo, how did you decide on this step?

– Knowing that I'm basically a pediatrician who has been working for over 30 years in the intensive care unit and that's my greatest love, this just fit into that story. And as I study neurology, where I penetrated even more into the depths of the brain, it gave me even more the courage to decide on such a step. That adrenaline, which is stimulated even more. Especially in Krushevo, where not only the rarefied air affects me, but Krushevo stimulated me because it has the greatest natural beauty in this world.

How much did you enjoy the adrenaline and did you feel fear?

- In terms of adrenaline, it certainly existed, and I was ready both during takeoff and landing. You see, it is extremely important with whom you fly in tandem and once again, sincere thanks to the respected master and exceptional talent Igor Todevski, who guided me to succeed. He was telling me, now do this, now stretch your legs, and these are things you do with ease when there is someone to guide you. The fact is that mistakes happen if you overestimate yourself, but I neither overestimated nor underestimated myself. Flying a paraglider is like a life lesson, when you decide to fly and you are not on the ground, you should always know that no matter how much you fly, don't think that you have achieved who knows what, because in life you are constantly learning and we face new challenges . For me, flying brought me back to my youth, and that moment when, despite your age, you realize it's never too late. With the take off, I descended into a child's brain, and with the landing, I said to myself, I can be better and I will do this again.

How did it feel up there and how did the landing go?

- Before taking off, apart from reading about this, I asked myself who is the man with whom I can fly. We waited with Igor at Mechkin Kamen from where the take-off was and when he thought I could, we entered the take-off section. I entered and he says to me, come on now, don't be afraid, you pull forward, I'll pull back... You run forward, the force carries you, and suddenly I see below me there is no land, only trees, all of Krusevo, Pelagonia... and there is nothing to think about anymore , you fly.

While flying with Igor in tandem, I realized that when you are in the air above, there is no place anymore and that's it. When you are up in the air and there are forests and fields below, there is nowhere to go. You shut out all negativity and have a sense of mastery over the universe. The first time I landed, it was difficult, but it was easy, so I realized that I was in the right place at the right time, ready to enroll in paragliding school and fly alone.

Is your mother from Krushevo? What binds you there the most?

- I am extremely proud that I come from Krushevo, from my mother, and I spent a large part of my childhood, holidays and free time here. I grew up in a beautiful mountain environment, which is now given more importance, as well as this with paragliding in Krushevo, which has been active for 15 years. I am a walking person, but I am proud that Krushevo is number one for these adventure sports. The house where my parents and I are, where I am now preparing my subspecialization in child neurology and where I realized that the more I train my brain, the stronger I am, so it was not by chance that I decided to fly a paraglider. Apart from the fact that Krushevo affects my improvement, here all my negative energy is released and you have a sense of control over the space.

Do you often go to Krushevo today?

- As a child, I went to Krushevo every holiday. Now we are renovating the house, it is in Turkish style, more than 100 years old and it has extremely high heat. And whenever I need to concentrate, I'm here. The houses are big, with verandas and rooms, with 100-year-old walnut furniture, and when I go to sleep, I wake up sleepy here. This year we are tidying up the yard, and while we are doing this interview, I am in Krushevo and from the window I see the church "St. Jovan" and the monastery of Toshe, St. A transformation, and the feeling is really nice.

How are the grandchildren Michael and Luka?

– Grandsons Mihail and Luka, so those are four blue eyes that correlate with the color of the sky. They will surely be fascinated by paragliding, along with their mother who said to me: you rode, now so do I. We all carry the adrenaline gene. I think they will also be part of these adrenaline stories.

You travel often, what is your favorite destination and why?

– I travel a lot, and I have always been on trips, as a lecturer for what I do. From Japan to America. England is my favorite country because my older daughter lives and works there. But my favorite is the Maldives with all the challenges as well as Bali. I like to walk and get to know different cultures.

Last book you read?

- I read the Bible last and it creates another dimension in me. I read history and so onè it's like a break from pediatric neurology, which is my daily literature.

What makes you happy, and what can take you out of tact?

– Few people remained. The few people I have make me happy. I go to church, I like to pray and that makes me happy. Let everyone hate you, but let God love you. I don't like injustice and backstabbing, that's what drives me crazy. Nothing is done with revanchism. Do good deeds, read, enjoy and fly. It will always come back to you with good.
